News

Acomb WI monthly meetings are held on the 3rd Monday of the month at Acomb First School Hall at 7.00pm.

Acomb Youth Club meets at the Village Hall each Wednesday at 6pm. Contact Chris or Lisa via 07795 110330.

Acomb Local History Society monthly meetings are held on the 2nd Monday of the month at Acomb Methodist Chapel at 7.30pm.

Please note, in the event of a flash flood. The contact is Jim Wright, Lead Flood Warden, mobile- 07702 539 736, Jim will liaise with the appropriate services. Look out for information on local notice boards.

The Red Burn Citizen Science project is now underway in Acomb! Become a ‘citizen scientist’ yourself and monitor rainfall, river levels, water quality parameters and flood events. Visit the following web pages to get started, download resources, install apps and share your observations overtime:

Thanks to all those who filled in the village questionnaires. We had a 56% (307) return which was a great result. The results were shared at Acomb Parish Council Annual Public meeting June 2015 and around the village. The findings have formed the basis of Acomb's Community Led Plan.
